About the Sour Eye

Poetry

I am greatly stimulated by my addiction to life's contradictions; of word, science, nature, philosophy, psychology, religion, society...and the list goes on and on. You get the picture. You're in the family photo.

There is an endless resource for consideration, contemplation and condemnation among the reasoning being. I love to exploit this with twists of perspective, double entendre and bold faced calling out of our innate ability to deny and reapply reality to conform with our fragile but domineering inner ego. Ah, the power of mental placebos.

Then there is the simplicity side of things. What we might inappropriately tend to refer to as "the bland". We overlook so much feeling, flavor and impact of the raw ingredients of satisfaction. Overcooked beyond recognition? I think we are regrettably missing pure intensity due to the numbing effects of overstimulation. And here I am still trying to dig deeper. I am my own victim of contradiction.

Sour Eye Slanderspiel is the relentless debate within our conscience. Meant for attempting to keep ourselves honest when we really do not want to be.

The Sour calling you out for not being what you ought to be.

The Eye of Self-exposing for sake of showing our relatively strange similarities.

The Slanderous speech responsibly mocking our awkward society out of tolerating the intoxicating obnoxious sobriety which has become such the defeatists crutch.

This is the author's nagging passion for venturing into and out of tension, aggressively sparking respect and contention, with ultimate intention to resurrect integrity.

To the Poet, this is everything.
