Beyond the Reflection
I already
Wear to many
Scars of regret
That won’t let me forget
How pain admires fear
You may hang yourself
On the rearview mirror
The past appearing clearer
Making the present
And future hard to hear
Through all of the breaths
Left in a hurry
In whispers of worry
Surely heavy on the ears
Then I get to thinking
I respectfully may be
Better off deaf
Than to carry the echo
Of years, and years and years
Into the distance
Accepting significance
Fades then disappears
Somewhere past the last reflection
Beautiful! Leaving the past, holding on to experience and wisdom, while continuing on this journey of hope and growth. ❤️🙏
This is how I understand this one- letting go of the past. To this I say a resounding, “Yes.” We only have the here and now. We must learn to cherish it and not squander it on worry or regret. Bravo! 👏👏
